
Danyel Salmela – Practice Manager
Danyel Salmela has dedicated more than 23 years to the dental profession and has been an integral part of Solid Bite since 2003. Beginning her career as a surgical assistant, Danyel’s passion for patient care, leadership, and practice excellence helped her grow into her current role as Practice Manager. She is deeply committed to creating an exceptional experience for every patient and takes great pride in helping transform lives through high-quality dental care.
Over the years, Danyel has played a key role in helping Solid Bite grow into one of the most respected private specialty practices in the region. Her dedication to ethical patient care, team development, and operational excellence has helped create the positive culture and high standards that define the practice today.
In 2014, Danyel expanded her passion for dentistry by founding a dental practice consulting company. Through her consulting work, she has traveled throughout the United States helping private dental practices improve leadership, strengthen their teams, increase profitability, and create exceptional patient experiences. She enjoys sharing the knowledge and systems that have contributed to the success of Solid Bite with practices across the country.
Outside of dentistry, Danyel’s greatest joy is her family. She and her husband are the proud parents of six children—Taylor, Andrew, Kylie, Brandon, Abygail, and Isabella—and grandparents to four wonderful grandchildren. She loves spending time with her children and grandchildren and considers family her greatest source of happiness.
When she is not at the office, Danyel enjoys traveling, especially visiting her son who serves in the United States Navy in Washington State. She also has a deep love for nature and the outdoors, finding peace and happiness in the wilderness. Whether exploring new places, spending time with family, or helping dental practices succeed, Danyel approaches everything she does with passion, dedication, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Eleanor Sheldon – Accounts Manager
Eleanor grew up in Providence, Rhode Island. She met Lee in college and they married in 1973. Their oldest son, Daniel, is a television sports anchor; their youngest son, Matthew, is a general and cosmetic dentist for our office. Eleanor has been working in the office since it opened in 1980. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, biking, reading and taking care of her many foster cats.

Michelle Furtado – Financial Manager
Michelle was born in Toronto and raised in Brazil. She earned her degree with honors in Forest Engineering at the Federal University of Vicosa, Brazil. Michelle and Dr. Michel Furtado married and moved to Toronto to pursue her Master of Science in Forestry at the University of Toronto. She then worked for the Connecticut Forest Legacy Program (Department of Energy & Environmental Protection) while Michel completed his periodontal residency at the University of Connecticut. Michelle and Michel moved to Brevard County in 2015, raising their two wonderful children, Alice and Ian. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family and friends, travel, and enjoy concerts with her favorite artists.

Jennifer Ashley – New Patient Specialist
Jennifer Ashley has been a valued member of the Solid Bite team since 2011. As our New Patient Specialist, she is often the first friendly voice and welcoming face that new patients encounter when beginning their journey with us. Jennifer helps patients get established in our practice, answers their questions, and ensures they feel comfortable and confident every step of the way.
Having experienced dental anxiety herself, Jennifer has a special gift for connecting with patients who are nervous about dental treatment. Her compassionate, understanding nature helps patients overcome their fears and feel reassured that they are in caring and capable hands. Jennifer truly believes in the exceptional care provided by our doctors and team and takes pride in helping patients discover that dentistry can be a positive and life-changing experience.
One of Jennifer’s favorite things about working at Solid Bite is the genuine care and support that the team provides to every patient. She loves being part of a practice that combines advanced treatment with kindness, compassion, and a family-like atmosphere.
When she’s not at the office, Jennifer enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, making memories with the people she loves most.

Amy Zeszutko – Front Desk Lead & Hygiene Coordinator
Amy Zeszutko serves as our Front Desk Lead and Hygiene Coordinator, bringing energy, warmth, and a welcoming presence to every patient who walks through our doors. Amy is passionate about creating a positive experience for our patients and loves helping them feel comfortable while they wait for their appointments. Whether she is sharing a funny story, engaging in conversation, or enjoying music with patients, Amy has a special way of making everyone feel right at home.
Originally from Upstate New York, Amy has proudly called Florida home for the past 29 years and considers herself a true Floridian. Her friendly personality, dedication to patient care, and ability to connect with others make her an invaluable part of the Solid Bite team.
Outside of the office, Amy enjoys spending time with her three adult children and her beloved dog, Oliver, who keeps life entertaining and full of personality. She also loves thrifting and exploring estate sales, always on the hunt for unique treasures, vintage finds, and hidden gems. Amy’s love of family, creativity, and discovering one-of-a-kind pieces reflects the warm, genuine, and down-to-earth spirit she brings to our practice every day.

Lindsay Ritchey – Front Desk Receptionist
Lindsay is one of the friendly faces that greets patients at our front desk and is passionate about making everyone feel welcome from the moment they walk through our doors. She brings a unique blend of customer service and healthcare experience, having previously worked in Endodontics and spending 14 years in fine-dining restaurants as a bartender.
Originally from the Eastern Shore of Delaware, Lindsay attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia, where she studied culinary arts for two years, and later earned her Associate of Science degree. She and her husband, a recently retired member of the United States Air Force, have a 15-year-old son named Graham.
Outside of the office, Lindsay enjoys relaxing by the pool, painting, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and gathering around the table for a good card game. Her warm personality and dedication to patient care help create the welcoming atmosphere our patients have come to know and appreciate.

Amberly Conyers – Front Desk
Amberly has always had a passion for helping others and creating a warm, welcoming experience for patients. With a background in the pharmacy industry, she loves being part of a team that helps create healthy, confident smiles and positively impacts patients’ lives.
At the front desk, Amberly enjoys getting to know patients and helping make their visits smooth and enjoyable from the moment they walk through the door to the time they leave. She values the supportive team she works alongside and appreciates the relationships she has built with both patients and coworkers.
Outside of the office, Amberly enjoys painting pottery, spending time with her children, Leo and Lia, visiting the beach, and making memories with family and friends. A fun fact about Amberly: she is the middle child and the only daughter among seven siblings.

Jenifer Sheldon – Marketing Manager
Jenifer was born in Melbourne but grew up on the island of Kauai. She attended the University of Florida where she graduated with honors with a degree in Health Science. Jenifer and Dr. Matt moved to Boston after graduation where she worked at Boston Children’s Hospital and completed her MBA at the University of Massachusetts. Jenifer and Dr. Matt have 3 children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.

Kathy Crowley – Front Desk Scheduler
Kathy has been in the dental field for over 18 years. She recently moved from her home state of Maine looking for warmer weather and no snow. What she finds so refreshing about working at Solid Bite is how everyone is so nice and friendly. Everyone works as a team, but it’s the patients that make coming to work worthwhile. When she is not at the office assisting patients and staff with their scheduling needs, she enjoys reading, walking her Siberian husky, and enjoying the weather. She has two children. Her oldest is Brianna and Devlin is 20 months younger. Kathy is one of six children in her family. She is the youngest and the only girl!

Courtenay Zambrano – Treatment Coordinator
Courtenay was born in Melbourne and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. She attended the Dental Assisting Program at Brevard Community College, where she earned her Expanded Functions certificate. She has been assisting in the dental field since 2006. Courtenay enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael, and girls, Malia and Codie. Courtenay also loves to sing and play the piano, both of which she does at her church each week. Aside from music, she enjoys shopping, volleyball, and spending time with her family. Courtenay says, “Our doctors are great doctors that really enjoy what they do. They’re not only concerned about a patient’s oral health, but a patient’s general health as well. They get to know patients on a personal level and treat them as if they’ve known them all their lives. They treat the staff that same way too! We really are a big family here.”

Morgan Savage-Kuntz – Registered Dental Hygienist
Morgan Savage-Kuntz was born in Santa Ana, California. She grew up mostly in Melbourne Florida from 1995, with interim stops in Seattle and California. Morgan has been in the dental field for 18 years, starting out as a Dental Assistant. She fell in love with dentistry and pursued her passion to study dental hygiene. She graduated from Eastern Florida State College in 2016 with her degree as a Certified Registered Dental Hygienist. Morgan strives to give her patients the most comfortable experience while improving their oral health. She is married to her husband, Chris. Together they have two daughters, Ella and Millie. Her hobbies include binging Netflix, reading, and spending time with her large extended family.

Katie Dennison – Lead Restorative Assistant
Katie Dennison joined Solid Bite in 2015, fresh out of dental assisting school after completing her internship with our practice. From the very beginning, her kind spirit, warm heart, and dedication to helping others made a lasting impression on our team. We were fortunate to hire her immediately after graduation, and she has been an invaluable part of our practice ever since, serving as our Lead Restorative Assistant.
With over 11 years of experience in dentistry, Katie is known for her exceptional patient care, attention to detail, and ability to make everyone around her feel comfortable and welcome. She has a natural gift for connecting with people and is loved by both her teammates and patients. Her positive attitude, genuine compassion, and fun-loving personality bring an energy to the office that makes Solid Bite a special place to work and receive care.
Born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, Katie married her high school sweetheart and has enjoyed living in several places throughout the country, including Tucson, Arizona, and Warrensburg, Missouri, before settling here in Florida. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and making memories with her husband, friends, and family. Katie is also devoted to raising her two young sons and helping care for her younger sister.
Katie’s loyalty, work ethic, and caring nature have helped shape the culture of Solid Bite, and we are grateful to have her as both a leader and a friend.

Ashley Crisafulli – Treatment Coordinator
Ashley Crisafulli has been a valued member of the Solid Bite family for over ten years. She began her journey with our practice while still in high school, assisting with administrative duties at the front desk. After graduating, Ashley joined the team full-time as a receptionist, where her growing passion for dentistry inspired her to explore the clinical side of patient care.
Ashley transitioned into surgical assisting and quickly became the lead surgical assistant to Dr. Furtado. Through years of hands-on experience and dedication to patient care, she developed a deep understanding of both the clinical and personal aspects of the patient journey. Today, Ashley serves as one of our Treatment Coordinators, helping patients navigate their treatment options, achieve their dental goals, and gain the confidence that comes with a healthy, beautiful smile.
What Ashley enjoys most about working at Solid Bite is building relationships with patients and being part of the supportive, family-oriented culture that makes our practice so special.
Outside of the office, Ashley loves going on adventures with her husband, Sam, spending time with friends, watching movies, and relaxing with her two beloved cats, Taco and Onion. Her warm personality, extensive knowledge of our practice, and genuine passion for helping others make her an invaluable resource for both our team and our patients.

Danielle Perez – Clinical Assistant
Danielle was born in Cape Canaveral and has proudly called Melbourne home her entire life. She enjoys working in a positive environment where she can help patients feel comfortable, supported, and cared for throughout their treatment journey.
Over the years, Danielle has become one of the most versatile team members in our practice. She began her career with us at the front desk and has since worked in nearly every aspect of the office, including sterilization, restorative assisting, surgical assisting, and now serves as our Surgical Coordinator. Her extensive experience throughout the practice allows her to provide exceptional support to both our patients and team members.
Known for her strong work ethic, organization, and attention to detail, Danielle is often the person who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Her dedication, adaptability, and commitment to excellence have made her an invaluable part of our team for many years.
Outside of the office, Danielle enjoys spending time with her son, Ethan, and her beloved fur babies, Lola and Luna. In her free time, she loves reading, watching movies, and exploring new cuisines.

Abby Joyner – Sterilization Technician
Abby Joyner has been a valued member of the Solid Bite team for the past year, serving as a Sterilization Technician while gaining hands-on experience in the dental field. At 17 years old and preparing to enter her senior year of high school, Abby is already pursuing her passion for dentistry and is currently training to assist in both surgical and restorative procedures.
Abby’s interest in dentistry began at a young age by watching her mother, who has worked in the dental field for over 25 years. Seeing the impact dentistry has on patients’ lives and witnessing her mother’s love for her profession inspired Abby to follow a similar path.
She enjoys being part of the Solid Bite family and appreciates the supportive team environment, compassionate doctors, and high level of care provided to every patient. Abby looks forward to continuing her education, expanding her skills, and building a future career in dentistry.
When she’s not at the office, Abby enjoys spending time with family and friends and preparing for the exciting opportunities that lie ahead after graduation.

Haley Cooper – Restorative Assistant
was born and raised on the beautiful island of Guam before making Brevard County her home. She attended the University of Florida, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences, along with a minor in Disability Studies. Although her educational background focused on serving families and communities, her passion for dentistry ultimately led her back to the dental field, where she has accumulated nearly eight years of experience.
Haley enjoys helping patients improve their oral health and confidence while creating positive experiences throughout their dental journey. She loves the supportive atmosphere at Solid Bite, the opportunity to work alongside an exceptional team, and the continual learning that comes with providing outstanding patient care.
Outside of the office, Haley enjoys traveling, exploring new hiking trails, and spending quality time with her beloved dog, Miso. Her adventurous spirit, caring nature, and dedication to helping others make her a valued member of the Solid Bite team.

Jamie Balasta – Surgical Assistant
Originally from the Philippines, Jamie spent much of her childhood in Guam before moving to Florida in 2001. She joined the Solid Bite team in 2026, bringing with her many years of surgical and dental experience, along with a passion for patient care and clinical excellence.
Her career in dentistry began at the front desk before transitioning into clinical assisting at Brevard Endodontics. She later earned her EFDA certification and expanded her skills across multiple dental specialties and general dentistry, gaining extensive experience with advanced dental technologies and treatment procedures. Her dedication to continued learning and patient care has made her a valuable asset to every practice she has been a part of.
What she enjoys most about dentistry is helping patients feel confident and comfortable throughout their treatment journey. Seeing patients leave with a healthy, beautiful smile is the most rewarding part of her work, and she takes great pride in being part of that transformation.
Outside of the office, she is a proud mother to three children: Oliver, Theodore, and Violet. She enjoys photography, exploring coffees from around the world, and caring for her growing collection of houseplants. In her free time, she can often be found watching K-dramas, listening to K-pop, and cheering on her favorite group, BTS. Her creativity, attention to detail, and caring nature shine through both in her professional life and at home.

Janet Rosa – Restorative Assistant
Janet Rosa joined the Solid Bite team in 2026 as a Restorative Assistant working alongside Dr. Matt Sheldon. Born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, Janet has been passionate about dentistry since beginning her career in 1993. With more than 30 years of experience in the dental field, she brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and compassion to every patient interaction.
After spending the majority of her career in New York, Janet recently relocated to Florida and is excited to continue helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of dental specialties, giving her a broad understanding of dentistry and a deep appreciation for patient care. While pediatric dentistry became a particular favorite during her years in New York, Janet enjoys working with patients of all ages and helping them feel comfortable and at ease during their visits.
Janet is a proud mother of three and values the importance of family both inside and outside the office. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, relaxing at the beach, exploring new restaurants, and spending quality time with her loved ones. After more than three decades in dentistry, Janet’s passion for helping others remains as strong as ever, and she is grateful for the opportunity to make a positive difference in someone’s day, one smile at a time.

Jaya Butler – Surgical Assistant
Jaya Butler joined the SolidBite team as a Surgical Assistant to Dr. Furtado, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a true passion for surgical dentistry. Originally from Volusia County, Jaya has a strong background as both a Surgical Technologist and Dental Assistant, giving her a well-rounded understanding of patient care and surgical procedures.
What Jaya enjoys most about her career is helping patients regain confidence in their smiles and seeing the positive impact that treatment can have on their lives. Her calm, compassionate nature and dedication to patient care help create a comfortable experience for every patient she meets.
Outside of the office, Jaya enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending quality time with her daughter. She is excited to be part of the SolidBite team and looks forward to helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles.

Jessica – Dental Hygienist
Jessica was born and raised in Pakistan, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Karachi University and her Degree in Dental Medicine from Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry. After relocating to the United States in 2017, she began her dental career as an assistant in Philadelphia and later earned her dental hygiene license in Florida. She has since practiced as a dental hygienist for nearly four years and continues to explore pathways toward a DDS/DMD degree in the U.S.
Outside of dentistry, Jessica finds joy and creativity in cooking—a pursuit that mirrors her professional values of precision, timing, and thoughtful preparation. She brings the same meticulous care and calm, compassionate approach to every patient she treats.

Joy Stephens – Treatment Coordinator
Joy Stephens has been a valued member of the Solid Bite team for over nine years and has dedicated more than 28 years to the dental profession. She truly lives up to her name, bringing a calm, compassionate, and reassuring presence to every patient interaction. As one of our dedicated Treatment Coordinators, Joy is passionate about helping patients understand their treatment options and move forward with the care they need to improve their health and smile with confidence.
Patients and team members alike appreciate Joy’s kindness, patience, and genuine desire to help others. Her years of experience, combined with her caring nature, allow her to guide patients through their treatment journey with confidence and ease. She is a strong advocate for her patients and takes great pride in helping them achieve healthy, beautiful smiles.
Outside of the office, Joy enjoys spending time with her family and is deeply involved in her church community. She especially cherishes the friendships, fellowship, and support she shares with her church family. Laura Sikes – Lead Restorative Dental Assistant
Laura Sikes has been a valued member of the Solid Bite team since 2018 and serves as the Lead Restorative Assistant alongside Dr. Matt Sheldon. Known for her kind, compassionate nature and gentle chairside manner, Laura has a special ability to help patients feel comfortable and at ease throughout their treatment. Her dedication to providing exceptional care, attention to detail, and commitment to patient comfort make her an essential part of our restorative team.
Originally from Fairfield, Connecticut, Laura has called Florida home for the past eight years. She is married to her husband, Daniel, and together they have four children. Laura feels honored to work alongside such talented doctors and an incredible team that genuinely cares for one another, works hard, and shares a passion for helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. She loves being part of a practice that combines professionalism, teamwork, and a positive atmosphere every day.
When she’s not at the office, Laura enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, relaxing at the beach, caring for her growing collection of plants, and spoiling her beloved kitty cats. Her warm personality, caring spirit, and dedication to both her family and her patients shine through in everything she does.

Selina – Dental Hygienist
Selina has called Florida home since the age of two and proudly considers herself a true Floridian. She grew up in South Florida and the Port St. Lucie area before settling in Brevard County, where she and her husband of 19 years have lived for more than two decades. Together, they’re raising two wonderful teenagers, along with two rescue dogs from Puerto Rico and a tortoise that happily roams their backyard.
When she’s not helping patients achieve their healthiest smiles, you can usually find Selina cheering on her son at the baseball field or her daughter on the volleyball or lacrosse field She also loves traveling, spending time at the beach, cooking, trying out the newest local restaurants, reading novels of all kinds, enjoying game nights with friends, and her guilty pleasure: watching reality TV.
Selina’s passion for dentistry began at a young age, though her first career path took her into banking and finance. After several years in investment sales and customer relations, she chose to pause her career to be a stay-at-home mom. During that time, she followed her true calling and studied dental assisting and dental hygiene.
A graduate of Eastern Florida State College’s Dental Hygiene program, Selina brings more than 10 years of experience in the dental field, with the past 5 years dedicated to practicing as a dental hygienist. She was honored with the 2021 Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award, recognizing her exceptional clinical skill and dedication to patient care.
Committed to giving back, Selina volunteers her time with Give Kids a Smile and Brevard Health Alliance extraction days, helping ensure access to dental care for those in need.
Selina’s warm, friendly personality and passion for building genuine connections make every patient feel comfortable and cared for. She believes dentistry is not just about healthy teeth; it’s about creating confident smiles that last a lifetime.
