Your First Visit and Consultation
Get one of the most thorough dental exams you've ever had
Even if you have been afraid for years to visit the dentist, come and see us. We’ll give you a very thorough examination, answer your questions, really listen to your concerns, explain your options and help you to take care of and preserve your teeth for life, one step at a time.
Comprehensive new patient exam
We have a reputation for providing our patients with extremely detailed dental exams. First you’ll be seen for a medical history review and blood pressure test. Then we’ll take full-mouth digital X-rays and intraoral camera photos of your smile, which are projected on a large digital monitor so you can see what we see.
Next comes complete periodontal and dental exams, and for implant patients, a CT scan as well. Depending upon your situation, we’ll also create study models so you can better understand how our recommended treatment plan will transform your smile. Our goal is to restore your smile to optimum health and beauty. Our focus is on your satisfaction.
Periodontal (gum) exam
The health of your gums is as important as the health of your teeth. With our state-of-the-art periodontal exam we will determine the state of your gums and how much, if any, periodontal care is needed to treat gum disease.
TMJ and oral cancer checks
Using low-dose digital X-rays and a close visual exam, the doctors will analyze the condition of your teeth and study your current occlusion to see if there is any damage currently being done by your bite or evidence of issues with your TMJ (jaw joint). They will also do a visual check to see if you have any oral abnormalities, such as oral cancer.
Consultation
Our doctors and staff will go over the condition of each problem tooth with you so that you have a complete picture of the state of your oral health. We’ll go over your different treatment options and explain them fully. We really stress educating our patients so they know exactly what is happening with their oral health. This way, you can make smart, educated decisions regarding your smile.
